Help fight the hunger which exists in our own backyard while working together as a team and "Sponsor the Day!" at The Community Soup Kitchen of Morristown.
The Community Soup Kitchen of Morristown is a non-profit organization serving not only a noontime meal to as many as 300 men, women, and children 365 days a year but through their Resource Center they help the more vulnerable members of our community to empower themselves and realize their full potential by offering the following:
- Mental Health Outreach available every weekday
- Alcohol & Substance Abuse Outreach available every weekday
- Community Outreach Coordinator available every weekday to facilitate referrals to local social service agencies, as well as distribution of coats, sleeping bags, toiletries, and emergency food relief
- Employment Counseling available weekly
- Health Screenings provided in collaboration with Morristown Memorial Hospital
- HIV/AIDS Testing provided in collaboration with Hope House
- Visiting nurse every week for medical inquiries
- Annual Employment Fair sponsored by Soup Kitchen
- Sponsorship of program to send children to summer camp
- English as a Second Language training
- Educational outreach to the youth in our community about poverty & hunger in NJ
Your tax-deductible sponsorship-fee of $1,500 in the summer and $2,000 in the winter will not only provide all the food served that day to our 150 to 300 homeless, working poor and elderly guests, as well as cover the overhead expenses associated with The Soup Kitchen (rental of dining room, utilities, paper goods, trash removal, staff and the like) but will also entitle your company to a sponsorship listing in our newsletter which is mailed to 2,500 residents and businesses in NJ.
In 2007 alone, the Community Soup Kitchen served 48,548 meals and over 2,100 adults and children directly benefited from the services provided by our Resource Center.
